THE POSITION OF CHILDREN IN THE FAMILY
Children are special blessing from God to any family. God deals with every family according to his sovereign power and no one has the right to question him, where he withholds this blessing.
He must have a better reason for doing so and no man can question his sovereignty (Genesis 15:14; 21-23, 29:31; Psalm 113:9).
There are so many instances in the scripture where God withhold this blessings or fruits from families. We have no right to question God but to continue to entreat him and wait.
It is not because of sin either past or present that a family is not blessed. Zechariah and Elizabeth were both righteous before God but had this blessing delayed until God’s appointed time (Luke 1:6, 7)
We have seen cases where even a mad woman and wayward once are blessed with the fruit of the womb. All we believe is that at God’s appointed time he visits his children, and when he does that, such children always become mighty in God’s hands. Even in situation where he decides not to visit a family: that does not change him from being the sovereign God (Malachi 3:6).
ASKING FROM GOD – (Matthew 7:7)
Children are the blessings from God: therefore we must ask this blessing from him. The duration of time it takes for God to answer is not in our powers to determine. However, we know there are cases, where the enemy steps in to cause unnecessary delay. In such cases God’s power always prevails against the power of the enemy.
MEDICAL ATTENTION: (Proverbs 17:22; Ezekiel 47; 12)
Through proper counseling, a medical attention should be sort to rule out any medical problems. The problems may be medical whereas we may claim it is an attack. Both spouses should work together, powerfully, medically and lovingly on this issue. In most of the cases in our society, It is a woman who shows more sign of commitment than the man, If an altar call is made any where for people who want blessing of the fruit of womb.
It is the woman who goes out for prayers. This is wrong. Isaac was a good husband and the Bible records that he entreated the Lord for his wife (Genesis 25:21). The power of agreement is very, very necessary in this direction among the couples in any programme they need to carry out (Matthew 18: 18 – 19).
ADOPTION: (Genesis 15:1 -3: Ephesians 1: 15; Galatians 4: 4, 5).
The issue of adoption is a very sensitive one. It can be the last step to take after all have failed. Many have woken up to the issue of adoption these days and they are living happily with their adopted children. This was the case with Abraham before God overruled.
He is a sovereign God and can still do anything even after the time of man is past (Genesis 18:11-14).
Adoption is not something to be entered into in haste. One needs to be well advised and mature in mind before such decision is taken. That is why we say it is the last resort.
